1. Information We Collect

• Account information: email address, username, display name, profile details, and authentication information.
• Content you provide: reading and journal data, posts, comments, messages, reports, and images you choose to upload.
• Purchase information: subscription product, purchase status, renewal or expiration status, and transaction identifiers used to provide and manage paid features.
• Usage and device information: app interactions, searches, views, shares, installation identifier, device type, crash information, and advertising identifiers where permitted.

Book information returned by external catalog providers may be saved when you add a book to your library. ReadMeld does not host PDF or ebook files.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to operate accounts, provide reading and social features, manage subscription access, analyze purchase performance, synchronize data, send requested notifications, display and measure advertising, maintain security, prevent abuse, moderate reported content, provide support, and improve reliability.

Payments are completed through Google Play. ReadMeld does not receive or store your full card or bank-account details.

3. Public and Private Content

Your profile and content you publish may be visible to other users according to the visibility controls available in the app. Private journal entries are not displayed publicly. Direct messages are visible to conversation participants and may be accessed when necessary for safety, abuse investigation, legal compliance, or service operation.

4. Service Providers and Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Limited information may be processed by providers that help us operate ReadMeld, including:

• service providers supporting authentication, notifications, diagnostics, advertising, book information, purchase management, hosting, and email delivery; and
• authorities or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect users and the service.

Each provider handles information under its own terms and privacy practices. Advertising providers may process device identifiers and ad interactions, subject to your device settings and applicable consent choices.

5. Local Storage and Cookies

The app uses secure device storage and local caching for sessions and performance. The website may use essential storage needed to operate its pages. We do not use the website to build cross-site advertising profiles.

6. Retention and Security

We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted network connections and restricted access. No system can guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices and Account Deletion

You may update account information and privacy choices in the app. You may permanently request account deletion from the app or through the form below. A deletion request removes or anonymizes associated personal data, subject to limited retention required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or law.

8. Children

ReadMeld is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can remove it.

9. International Processing

Information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international processing.

10. Changes and Contact

We may update this policy when our practices or legal obligations change. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate.
